Aniimo Transmog Guide: Currencies, Costs and Irisalis Sets
How Aniimo transmog works: unlocking it through Irisalis, Radiant vs Glimmering Dreamshadow costs, lock strategy, and the four Irisalis appearance sets.
FAQ
What is Glimmering Driftshadow for in Aniimo?
What is transmog in Aniimo?
Transmog in Aniimo is a cosmetic-only reroll system for Legendary Aniimo. It changes appearance — colour, wings, headwear, body treatment and visual effects — and never changes stats, skills or Potential. Right now Irisalis is the only Legendary in the game, so she is also the only creature with a Transmogrify button. There is no standalone transmog menu or shop screen: open Aniimo Management, pick your Irisalis, and the option sits on her individual page next to the other actions.
The system arrived with patch 1.1, Legendary Journey: Windchaser’s Departure, on 25 September 2026, and runs alongside the Irisalis acquisition chain. That timing is why the searches exploded this week: every player who finishes the 99-petal grind lands on the transmog screen the same day.
Official source: Legendary Journey announcement — “After befriending Irisalis, you will also unlock its exclusive Transmog ability.”
How do you unlock transmog?
There is exactly one gate: befriend Irisalis. No level, no handbook tier, no purchase unlocks it early.
- Collect 99 Irisalis Petals through the Legendary Journey sources.
- Craft the Legendary Aniipod: Irisalis (requires Student I / Chapter 2).
- Enter her Rift in the Sea of Flowers, beat Irisalis: Rampage, and befriend her.
- Open Aniimo Management, select Irisalis, and Transmogrify appears.
The full petal route — ground pickups, the Breezy Mission Letter, Alpha first-clears and the weekly sources — is on the Irisalis page. If you are still farming petals, read that first; nothing on this page is usable without her.
[!note] One Legendary means one wardrobe Future Legendaries will presumably get their own transmog pools, but nothing in the client or the announcements describes a shared wardrobe. Every cost and set on this page applies to Irisalis only.
What are Radiant and Glimmering Dreamshadow?
Two currencies feed the same screen, and mixing them up is the most expensive beginner mistake. They are not interchangeable: one advances your account, the other does not.
| Radiant Dreamshadow | Glimmering Driftshadow | |
|---|---|---|
| What it rolls | Any unlocked slot, all five parts | Colour, Wings and Headwear only |
| Unlock progress | Yes, fills the transmog bar | No progress at all |
| Works with locks | Yes, the only currency that does | No, locked slots block it |
| Rarity range | Up to Legendary sets | Lower pool, no Legendary chase |
| Spend priority | After Glimmering is exhausted | Always first |
The practical rule: as long as Glimmering rolls can still change something you care about, never spend Radiant. Glimmering is cheap and farmable; Radiant is scarce and event-gated.
How do you get Radiant Dreamshadow?
Radiant Dreamshadow is the premium currency, and every source is limited. Plan around that rather than around the reroll screen.
| Source | Amount | Limit | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Advanced Companion Handbook ($10 tier), levels 35 and 65 | 2 total | One-time per season | Confirmed, multi-source |
| First Encounter in Light shop pack, 380 Lumin Crystals for 10 | Up to 30 | 3 purchases, ends 8 Oct 2026 | Single-source, shop screenshot pending |
| Aniimart Transmog Shop, 1 Transmog Essence each | Up to 5 | Weekly, tab closed at launch | Single-source |
Game8’s transmog breakdown and GameSpot’s Radiant guide agree on the Handbook pair, which makes those two stones the only Radiant supply every player is guaranteed. The shop pack and the Essence exchange each rest on one outlet’s report, so confirm the tab is actually open in your client before budgeting around them. Gamezebo’s walkthrough covers the same acquisition path from the currency side.
[!warning] Do not roll single stones hoping for Legendary The reported pull spread is roughly 77% Rare, 19% Epic and 3% Legendary, with a Legendary pity around 62 rolls, but that spread comes from one outlet’s in-client screenshots and has no second source yet. Treat every Radiant roll as entertainment spending, not as progress toward a guaranteed set piece.
How do you get and use Glimmering Driftshadow?
Glimmering Driftshadow is the working player’s currency: cheap, repeatable, and good enough for everything except the Legendary chase. It is bought in the Legendary Journey shop for 2 Irisalis Petals per stone, and the purchase unlocks only after you craft the Legendary Aniipod: Irisalis — so it is a post-99-petals economy, not a shortcut to her.
Using it has three hard restrictions, all confirmed across Aniimo Tools’ transmog guide, the subreddit’s usage thread and the mechanics discussion:
- Only Colour, Wings and Headwear. Body and Sparkling never accept Glimmering.
- No slot with a lock on it. The moment you lock anything, Glimmering stops being usable.
- No unlock progress. Glimmering rerolls change looks without moving the transmog bar.
The client spends Glimmering before Radiant when both are available, and there is a Use Exclusively toggle for players who want to guarantee no Radiant leaks into a casual reroll session. Turn that on before experimenting.
[!tip] The intended Glimmering loop Farm petals past the 99 for the Aniipod, convert the surplus into Glimmering, and settle Colour, Wings and Headwear first. Only then start spending Radiant on Body and Sparkling, where Glimmering cannot follow.
What does each roll cost, and how do locks work?
Every reroll of an unlocked, unlocked-slot costs a base of 1 stone. Locks let you freeze slots you like while rerolling the rest, and each additional lock doubles the per-roll price: one locked slot costs 2 per roll, two cost 4, three cost 8. You can lock at most three slots, and the Sparkling slot can never be locked.
Published unlock milestones disagree between outlets — Game8 prints a cumulative 14 / 37 / 69 / 110 scale while Aniimo Tools reports an in-client 0 / 150 / 400 / 750 / 1200 scale with +10 progress per roll — so treat the exact numbers as unverified and the shape as agreed: cumulative spending fills one bar, and a full bar across all five parts (Colour, Wings, Headwear, Body, Sparkling) is the long-term sink. The Game8 figure of 110 cumulative Radiant stones to open everything is the commonly quoted total.
The strategy both outlets converge on has three phases:
- Unlock phase. Spend Radiant with no locks until all five parts are open. Locking early raises every subsequent unlock roll.
- Target phase. Reroll everything at base cost until one slot lands something worth keeping.
- Sequential locking. Lock the keeper, keep rolling the rest, add locks one at a time as more slots settle. Save up to 2 presets so a finished combination survives further experiments, and check the 10-slot history before hitting Save and Apply.
What are the four Irisalis transmog sets?
Four named sets plus her default look make up the current pool. Rarity here is cosmetic tier, not power.
| Set | Tier | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Iris in First Bloom | Default | Her base appearance, always available |
| Floral Glow | Epic | Mid-tier pool target |
| Shadowthorn Phantom | Epic | Mid-tier pool target |
| Starbloom Moonlight | Legendary | Long-term chase, ~3% reported rate |
| Sunflare Rose | Legendary | Long-term chase, ~3% reported rate |
One outlet counts four sets and another counts five including the default outfit; that is a counting convention, not a contradiction. What matters for budgeting is that a full Legendary set is a pity-scale project, while a full Epic look is achievable on Glimmering plus modest Radiant spending.
Is transmog worth it?
Transmog is pure fashion, so the honest answer depends on what you value. It adds zero combat power — a Prismana Irisalis with a default look performs identically to one in Sunflare Rose. What it does buy is the only cosmetic endgame the game currently has, and because Irisalis is also a top-tier Grass DPS (see her team section), she is the one creature you will actually look at for hundreds of hours.
The free-to-play verdict: Glimmering-only transmog is absolutely worth it, since surplus petals convert directly into looks. The paying verdict: two guaranteed Handbook stones plus the shop pack buy a respectable Epic wardrobe, but chasing a full Legendary set on a 3% reported rate is whale territory. Settle your three Glimmering slots, unlock all five parts, and stop there unless fashion is your endgame.
