Aniimo Sword of Bravery: Warrior Quest Walkthrough (Pawney)
How to pull out the Aniimo Sword of Bravery: the real quest name, where Sorora starts Warrior in Russet Highlands, the Infergon fight and Pawney.
Is “Sword of Bravery” a quest in Aniimo?
No, and that is the first thing to fix before you start searching. There is no quest called Sword of Bravery in the journal. Sword of Bravery is an item, and “pull out the Sword of Bravery” is one objective inside a quest the game files as Warrior, the first of four sections in the Journey chapter The Legend of Helmuts and Helgons.
So if you searched for “aniimo sword of bravery” because a guide told you to pull a sword out of a rock and nothing happened, the chain you actually need is Warrior. It runs roughly twelve tracked steps in Russet Highlands, starts with a painter rather than a sword, and ends with a level 50 boss. The sword is step eight.
There is also a second, unrelated quest with a similar name: Warrior (The Legend of Thousand-Fang Ridge) in Beast Fang Ridge. Same chapter family, different region, different reward. Make sure the marker you are following is in Russet Highlands, not Beast Fang Ridge.
[!warning] Interacting with the sword early does nothing The sword is physically present in the world before you start Warrior. Walking up to it and pressing interact only produces a line of flavour text about a Russet Highlands legend and a hint that Twining with a Helmut may help. It will not move, and it will not count. The pull only works while the Warrior objective is active.
What are the prerequisites for the Warrior quest?
Two things gate the chain, and neither is a level requirement in the usual sense.
The first is story progress. Warrior is a hidden step of the main story, unlocked during Ancient Sacred Fragrance. The chapter’s step “Go to the Russet Highlands and search for the Incense of Courage” is what opens the area’s content, and reaching Sorora’s spot completes the unlock. In practice you can also simply walk to the painter at Rainbow Woods once the Russet Highlands are accessible, and the quest will start on the spot.
The second is a Helmut of your own. You need it for two separate steps: the Weeping Helmut will not talk to your Pathfinder, and the Dragonclaw Stone will not break without it. Catch one before you travel. Plain Helmuts are common around the Russet Highlands, and the clearing west of the First Sight Sanctum is a reliable spot; the same area is used by the Secret of the Golden Helmet hidden scene, so you can farm both in one trip.
Bring a boss-ready team as well. The final fight is a level 50 encounter, and if your best Aniimo are still in the twenties, the best team guide is a faster read than trial and error.
How do you start the Warrior quest in Russet Highlands?
Talk to Sorora, the painter standing at the Rainbow Woods landmark, roughly 20 m from the fast travel point. He is working on a canvas he cannot finish and muttering the phrase “a ghost swings its sword at the dragon.” Exhaust his dialogue and the quest opens.
Some players meet him differently. Game8 reports that during Ancient Sacred Fragrance you will run into a Playful Helmut and a Romping Helmut talking before they run off; following them leads you to Sorora on the cliff. Either route ends at the same NPC. If you already started the quest, pick up wherever your objective marker points.

What are all the Warrior quest steps, in order?
The chain sends you back and forth across the highlands before it hands you the sword, and two of the waypoints are on mountain tops rather than on the flat. The order below follows the objective list the game’s own step tables use.
| Step | Where | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rainbow Woods (~20 m), Russet Highlands | Talk to Sorora and accept the quest |
| 2 | Twister Peaks (~79 m) | Follow the marker to a Weeping Helmut hiding behind rubble. Twine with your Helmut to talk to it |
| 3 | Hiding Helmut | Talk to it; it flees and the marker moves up the mountain |
| 4 | Vigilant Eyes (~194 m) | Climb to the top of the mountain and find the exhausted Helmut |
| 5 | Same clearing | Check on the Helmut, then inspect the marks on the ground |
| 6 | Twister Peaks (~156 m) | Twine with your Helmut and shatter the Dragonclaw Stone |
| 7 | The same arena | Pull out the Sword of Bravery, choosing the brave reply every time you are prompted |
| 8 | The same arena | Your Twined Helmut evolves into Pawney |
| 9 | The same arena | Beat the level 50 Infergon |
| 10 | The rock formation | Pick the Flame Flower that grows in the emptied rock |
| 11 | Rainbow Woods (~20 m) | Return to Sorora |
| 12 | Rainbow Woods | Finish the conversation to close the quest |
Steps 2 and 3 are the ones most players stall on, because the Weeping Helmut is not simply an NPC you walk up to. It hides behind rubble northwest of the Twister Peaks fast travel point, and it only responds once you are Twined with a Helmut. Gamerant’s walkthrough records the same requirement, and the step order itself comes from Aniimo Tools’ Journey table.
Where exactly is the Sword of Bravery?
The sword is inside a rock formation at the centre of the circular arena the chain walks you to. Community maps put the marker at Twister Peaks, Russet Highlands, at roughly 156 m from the Twister Peaks array, and Game8’s Sword of Bravery page ties the same item to the arena where the Omega Infergon weekly boss is fought.
Two outlet descriptions look contradictory at first and are not. Gamerant places the arena “in the eastern part of the Russet Highlands.” Sportskeeda says the sword is “in the Breezy Plains on the Russet Highlands.” Breezy Plains is the parent region that contains Russet Highlands, so both describe the same arena. Nobody in our checks placed the sword in a different region; the disagreement is only about which compass direction within Russet Highlands you should be facing. Destructoid reaches the same conclusion from the quest side: the pull is a Warrior objective, not an item you can grab on a whim.
How do you pull out the Sword of Bravery?
The pull is a three-part interaction, and skipping any part leaves you standing in front of a sword that will not budge.
- Twine with a Helmut. Not just have it in the party. The objective is written around Helmut specifically, because the legend is about a Helmut becoming Pawney.
- Shatter the Dragonclaw Stone. Use a strong damage skill on the rock formation at the centre of the arena. If this is your first visit the sword is still buried; breaking the stone reveals it.
- Interact and answer bravely. Exhaust the dialogue and pick the brave option at every prompt. Gamerant notes the choice matters; pick the timid replies and the sequence will not complete.
When the dialogue ends, your Twined Helmut evolves into Pawney on the spot. Infergon then drops out of the sky and the boss fight begins, so there is no window to heal or swap teams between the evolution and the fight. Top up before you touch the sword.
[!critical] Do not start the pull on a weakened team The evolution cutscene flows straight into a level 50 fight. Players who arrive with a half-health Helmut and no potions routinely lose the encounter and have to run the arena again.
How do you beat Infergon at the arena?
Infergon is a pure Fire Aniimo, which makes the counter list short and cheap: bring Water and Earth damage. Gamerant’s counter list names Magmarex, Grizbo, Minespine, Leafy, Sherro and Erlath, and adds that either starter, Lunara or Helion, will do the job if it is properly levelled.
| Infergon facts | Detail |
|---|---|
| Level | 50 |
| Element | Fire |
| Weak to | Water, Earth |
| Commonly cited counters | Magmarex, Grizbo, Minespine, Leafy, Sherro, Erlath |
| Also viable | Lunara or Helion at an appropriate level |
| Family | Omega of the Jawling line |
A Fire team into Infergon is the single most common way to lose this fight, so check your type matchups before you commit. When Infergon falls, interact with the now-empty rock formation in the middle of the arena. A Flame Flower has grown there; pick it up to finish the legend objective, then take it back to Sorora.
What are the Warrior quest rewards?
The reward tables disagree, and this is one of the few places where the difference is worth knowing about before you finish the quest. Two sources list a Flame Flower and a Flame Flower Root; a third, Gamerant, lists a Flameheart Stone in the same slot.
| Reward | Game8 | Gamerant |
|---|---|---|
| Sword of Bravery | 1 | 1 |
| Ferocious Fang | 1 | 1 |
| Sparkling Crystal | 30 | 30 |
| Glimmer | 30 | 30 |
| Credits | 22,500 | 22,500 |
| Safaris | 1,000 | not listed |
| Flame Flower | 1 | not listed |
| Flame Flower Root | 1 | not listed |
| Flameheart Stone | not listed | 1 |
| EXP | not listed | 1,000 |
| Rusty Iron Sword | 1 (granted mid-quest) | not listed |
The two overlapping columns agree on the currency totals, so treat the Sword of Bravery, the Ferocious Fang, 30 Sparkling Crystal, 30 Glimmer and 22,500 Credits as settled. The Flame Flower versus Flameheart Stone naming is unresolved; both names appear in community databases and neither source has been corrected since launch. Keep whichever the game hands you and do not plan a build around it.
The Rusty Iron Sword is the quiet one. Community step tables place it as an “along the way” pickup during the chain rather than in the final payout, and it is worth grabbing on the pass rather than hunting afterwards.
How do you evolve Helmut into Pawney?
Pawney cannot be caught anywhere in Idyll. The only route is evolution, and the only way to unlock that evolution is this quest. Completing Warrior permanently adds Helmut to Pawney to the evolution screen for every Helmut you own, including regional forms.
| Requirement | Value |
|---|---|
| Base Aniimo | Helmut at level 45 |
| Quest flag | Warrior completed (this chain) |
| Evolution item | 1 x Night Stone |
| Alternative branch | Rookey, same level 45 plus a Ballistic Guard counter kill and the Unwavering Rampart passive |
The Mountain Woods form of Helmut works too, which is why the two Russet Highlands chains are usually run together: the hidden scene gives you the golden Helmut, and Warrior gives it somewhere to go. Our Sword of Bravery tracking page is the short version, and the longer unmarked-scene problem is documented in the Secret of the Golden Helmet guide.
