Nimbus Fields Aniimo Guide: Dreaple, Sleeping Flock and First Spark
Where every Nimbus Fields Aniimo spawns, how to trigger the Sleeping Flock event, where Dreaple sleeps in the central ruins, and how to clear Sanctum: First Spark.
Where is Nimbus Fields in Aniimo?
Nimbus Fields is the low-level grass basin that most players cross first, sitting at level 5 to 15. Soft clouds drift low over the velvety grass, Nimbis bounce across the open wilds, and the whole region reads as a tutorial zone until you realise two of its species spawn nowhere else in Idyll.
Those two are Dreaple and Geodeback, and they are the reason anyone returns here after the story has moved on. Eighteen species spawn across 21 form rows and 327 placed points — the densest spawn table of any region tallied on this site — and the density is heavily lopsided: Iris - Grassland Form alone accounts for 61 points, Nimbi accounts for 54, and Nimbi - Rainstorm Form another 35.
Nimbus Fields also holds two Sanctums, which is unusual for a starter region. First Spark is the one the main story sends you into, and Chasing Clouds is the second; both sit in Nimbus Fields and both contain four optional chests, which is exactly why community guides keep warning players not to mix them up.

What spawns in Nimbus Fields?
Eighteen species appear across 21 form rows. Wind is the largest element group at six rows, followed by Fire, Grass and Earth at four each. The file-derived spawn tables behind the counts below are published on MetaBot’s Nimbus Fields page.
| Aniimo | Form | Trigger condition | Spawn points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Emberpup | Base | None | 23 |
| Flameruff | Base | None | 4 |
| Celestis | Base | None | 2 |
| Chirpi | Base | None | 7 |
| Iris | Grassland | None | 61 |
| Skippy | Base | None | 14 |
| Pranky | Base | None | 6 |
| Glacy | Base | Requires the Student II title | 1 |
| Nimbi | Base | None | 54 |
| Nimbi | Cloudmist | None | 4 |
| Nimbi | Rainstorm | Rainy or thunderstorm weather | 35 |
| Turbo | Rainstorm | Rainy or thunderstorm weather | 2 |
| Dreaple | Base | Complete Sleeping Flock, then catch 30 Emberpup-family Aniimo | 1 |
| Hummin | Base | None | 30 |
| Budclaw | Base | None | 17 |
| Budclaw | Bay | None | 4 |
| Sparki | Base | Nighttime | 19 |
| Flamerion | Base | Nighttime, after catching 15 Sparki in a row | 2, approximate placement |
| Flutternym | Base | None | 32 |
| Pebbling | Base | None | 8 |
| Geodeback | Base | None | 1 |
The Emberpup-family line is the one to keep in mind, because Dreaple’s unlock counts it. Emberpup, Flameruff and their variants are what the game tallies for that threshold, and Emberpup’s 23 points here make Nimbus Fields the cheapest place in Idyll to farm the count.
How do you trigger the Sleeping Flock event?
Sleeping Flock is a Lumin Amber activity, not a quest, and it sits west of Sanctum: First Spark. Two conditions gate it, and the second one is easy to miss.
First, it has to be daytime. The activity will not start at night, so check the in-game clock before you travel. Second, you have to Twine with a Nimbi before you approach — the activity is built around napping alongside the other Nimbis, and the game expects you to arrive as one. Once both conditions are met, walk to the peculiar leaf tree and interact with it to start napping with the flock.
| Sleeping Flock step | What to do |
|---|---|
| 1. Location | West of Sanctum: First Spark, in Nimbus Fields |
| 2. Time | Daytime only |
| 3. Preparation | Twine with a Nimbi first |
| 4. Trigger | Approach the peculiar leaf tree and interact to nap with the other Nimbis |
Completing Sleeping Flock is the first of two requirements for Dreaple. The second is the counter, and the counter is where most players go wrong.
How do you get Dreaple in Nimbus Fields?
Dreaple needs Sleeping Flock cleared and then one Dreaple appears for every 30 Emberpup-family Aniimo you catch. The condition is explicit that the count does not stack, so catching 60 does not produce two at once — the tally pays out one spawn at a time.
The notification only fires once. Game8 notes that during the first Dreaple spawn a pop-up tells you it has appeared, and every subsequent spawn is silent. If you catch your thirtieth Emberpup, miss the message, and walk away, the Dreaple is still sitting there and nothing will tell you.
[!critical] The Dreaple counter does not stack and only notifies once Catch 30 Emberpup-family Aniimo, see one notification, then go to the ruins. Every spawn after that arrives silently, so track your own count instead of waiting for a pop-up. This is the single most common reason players report that Dreaple is bugged when it is not.
Finding the spawn itself is straightforward once it exists. MetaBot’s file-derived condition text places Dreaple “near the Riverside Ruins”, and Game8 describes the same target as the ruins near the centre of Nimbus Fields, where Dreaple sleeps in front of one of the collapsed entrances. Both descriptions point at the same ruin cluster in the middle of the region, so head for the centre and look for broken entrances rather than a cave mouth. The name “Riverside Ruins” itself shows up on MetaBot but not in Game8’s write-up, so treat that label as single-source; the location is not in doubt, only what the game calls it.
Dreaple is also reachable without any of this. Evolving a level 21 Nimbi produces one, provided you have rested with the Pathfinder to move time from night to day and learned the Dreamsong passive talent from the Student II tier, at a cost of three Night Stones. The wild route is faster if you are already catching Emberpups; the evolution route is more reliable if you want a Dreaple at a specific level. Full stats, traits and team notes are on the Dreaple page.
Where are the central ruins in Nimbus Fields?
Nimbus Fields has one named ruin cluster that matters, and it is the one MetaBot calls the Riverside Ruins. Dreaple spawns beside its collapsed entrances, which is why the ruins are worth marking on your map even before you start the Emberpup count.
Do not confuse it with the Crystal Cave. Nimbus Fields has eleven Cave & Portal markers and a significant underground layer; community collectible guides split the region’s pickups into surface chests, surface Lumin Amber and a second batch inside the Crystal Cave, and they recommend bringing a Fire Aniimo, a digger and something that flies. The Crystal Cave is a separate system from the central ruins, and hunting Dreaple in the cave will not work.
Where is Sanctum: First Spark?
Sanctum: First Spark sits in Nimbus Fields and is the region’s story Sanctum. Its mechanic is Fire: you use Emberpup’s Fire Bolt to solve the room’s puzzles. It contains four chests, and the clear reward is one Lumin Amber plus 500 EXP. Chest rewards reported from inside include 10 Glimmers, 10 Sparkling Crystals, 10,000 Credits and Fission Needles.
Two things about First Spark trip people up. The first is that clearing it is a main story objective in the Setting Out Again chain, and it also gates a Flameruff evolution at level 12, so it is not optional content you can defer. The second is the naming overlap: Nimbus Fields holds both First Spark and Chasing Clouds, both Sanctums have four optional chests, and community guides flag the pair as especially easy to confuse. First Spark is also the landmark for Sleeping Flock, which sits just west of it — so the story Sanctum and the Dreaple prerequisite are neighbours.
The Wikily entry for First Spark confirms the four-chest count and the room’s flame theme.
Which Nimbus Fields spawns need weather, night or a quest?
Six rows in the region are conditional, and they split cleanly into weather, time of day and progression gates. The weather pair is the most valuable: Nimbi - Rainstorm Form alone carries 35 points, so a rainy session here is one of the highest-yield weather windows in the game.
| Condition | Rows it unlocks |
|---|---|
| Rainy or thunderstorm | Nimbi - Rainstorm, Turbo - Rainstorm |
| Nighttime | Sparki |
| Nighttime plus 15 Sparki caught in a row | Flamerion |
| Student II title | Glacy |
| Sleeping Flock plus 30 Emberpup-family catches | Dreaple |
The Sparki-then-Flamerion sequence works the same way it does in Beast Fang Ridge: fifteen Sparki in a row unlocks one Flamerion, so it is a dedicated night session rather than something you stumble into. Setting the weather yourself instead of waiting for the forecast is covered in how to change the weather.
What level should you be for Nimbus Fields?
Wild spawns run 5 to 15, which makes this the lowest-level region in the game and the right place to learn catching, Twining and the Aniipod system. MetaBot’s type-chart count against the 21 wild rows is flat at the top — Water, Lightning and Wind each hit 6 of 21 rows super-effectively — so almost any starter team works here.
The bosses are a different story, and the gap between them is the region’s real trap. Alpha Geoclaw is level 15, right at the top of the normal band and a fair fight for a player who has finished the area. Alpha Turbo is level 30, double the region’s level ceiling, and it is not a starter boss no matter how close it looks on the map.
| Boss | Tier | Level | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alpha Geoclaw | Alpha | 15 | None; 30 Primegy per attempt |
| Alpha Turbo | Alpha | 30 | None; 30 Primegy per attempt |
Beating Alpha Geoclaw is also how you unlock the Budclaw to Geoclaw evolution, so it is worth doing before you leave. And Alpha Turbo’s fight has its own mechanic: it floats, and you have to lure it into sticking to two Nimbis so it becomes too heavy and crashes down. If you are still building your first real team, the beginner guide covers the Pathfinder Rank gates and the tier list shows what is worth investing in.
